Ad listing packages
Auto ads that appear in the paper are not automatically posted
to the Web site. Sellers have the option to purchase packages that
include a Web presence, a print presence, or both. For detailed
information on rates and packages, speak to a classifieds representative.
Call 910-323-4848 and ask for Classifieds.

Search tips
You can do a quick search for a new or used car / truck on the
Cape Fear Wheels home page. In order to expand your search criteria,
click on the "Find a vehicle" tab and you'll go to our
advanced search page. To search for motorcycles, RVs, ATVs, watercraft
and commercial vehicles, click on the links on the left hand side
of the page under the "Other vehicles" or go to the "Find
a vehicle" page.
To find specific criteria such as: 1990 Honda Accord, under $10,000,
within 10 miles of your home and sold by a dealer, you would choose
the following:
- Make: Honda
- Model: Accord
- Year from: 1990 to: 1990
- Price from: 0 to: 10,000
- Select dealer listings only
- Within: Select 10 miles
- Zip code: Enter your zip code
- Click the search button.
Sort your results:
Results of your search are pre-sorted by price (from high-to-low).
You can re-sort the listings by clicking on the drop-down above
the results that say "Sort results by."

Saved searches and e-mail alerts
Why would I want to save a search?
Saving a search allows you to create specific search parameters
once without having to re-create them every time you return to the
site. It also allows you to automatically receive the results via
e-mail, daily or weekly. Be aware that all of our inventory is dynamic,
subject to prior sale and will be removed from your saved listings
if the ad is removed from our database.
How many searches can I save?
You can save up to five vehicle searches.
How do I save a search?
Just search for your vehicle preferences on Cape Fear Wheels and
click on "Save this search" on the top right of your search
results page. You'll be asked to login to Cape Fear Wheels and then
your search will be saved.
What are e-mail alerts?
Once you've saved your search, you can create or edit an e-mail
alert by clicking on "E-mail alerts" from the tab at the
top within any section. This will take you directly into your saved
search and e-mail alert manager.
How do I set up e-mail alerts?
You can save a search that you've already created by clicking on
the "Save this search" link at the top of your search
results. Additionally, you can edit or create an e-mail alert by
clicking on "E-mail Alerts" from the tab at the top within
any section. This will take you directly into your saved search
and e-mail alert manager.
Show me how to quickly create saved searches and e-mail alerts
on Cape Fear Wheels.
- Click on "E-mail alerts" from the top navigation of
Cape Fear Wheels, or search for a vehicle and click the "Save
this search" button at the top of the search results page.
- Log in to your account or register for a new account with Cape
Fear Wheels.
- Name your search agent (e.g. "Audi A4").
- Select your e-mail frequency (daily, weekly or no e-mail)
- Adjust your criteria to include specific items like: make, model,
price, mileage, body style, etc.
Click "Save".
You'll begin to receive e-mails based on the frequency you specify
or you can come back and perform your saved search at any time.
Do I need to login to save searches or set-up e-mail alerts?
Yes, you'll need to log in to your capefearwheels.com account so
that we can remember your search preferences. Once logged in, you
can create and edit all of your saved searches and e-mail alert
preferences.
Can I get results automatically e-mailed to my home or office?
Yes, you can choose to receive your results daily or weekly. Weekly
results are sent on Sundays when Cape Fear Wheels has the most listings
on the Web site and can provide you with the best chance to find
the vehicle you're looking for.
You can change the e-mail frequency (none, daily, weekly) anytime
for each saved search.
Why am I not receiving my e-mail alerts?
You should receive daily e-mails every morning. Weekly e-mails are
sent on Sunday mornings. Even if you have e-mail alerts set up to
be sent on a regular basis you may not receive e-mail alerts if
the criteria you have selected does not match any of the vehicles
in our database.
Please log in to your account to check the e-mail frequency that
you've assigned to each saved search. If you do indeed have your
e-mail frequency set for daily or weekly (Sunday), and you are not
receiving alerts at that interval, then e-mail arnoldc@fayobserver.com
with your specific issue.
How can I stop receiving e-mails for my saved searches?
Log in to the saved searches page within the category you're interested
in. From there, you can delete your saved searches or edit the saved
search and change the frequency to "Don't send e-mail"
to stop receiving e-mails.
How come I lost some of my saved listings when I came back to
the site?
Listings change day-to-day. If a listing is pulled from our site,
it will also be pulled from your saved listings area. |
